TIMOR NOW HATENE - Turkey is considering buying another fighter jet if it is removed from the F-35 program by the United States.
President Trump has said to expel Turkey from cooperation in making the F-35, after Erdogan unanimously decided to buy a Russian-made S-400 air defense system.
Seeing the situation, the Kremlin immediately seized the opportunity and approached Erdogan while offering their fighter jets.
According to the news broadcast by Anadolu, the head of the Turkish defense industry Ismail Demir stated that all choices regarding the purchase of state defense equipment were already above the "work desk".
An analyst said, Washington is actually trying not to impose sanctions for the purchase of S-400, a missile system that can reach targets from a distance of 400 km.
But after Ankara officially announced its choice to buy S-400 missiles and all its components, the US had no choice but to end Turkey's participation in the development of the F-35 stealth fighter jet.
Stephanie Grisham, White House spokeswoman, said Ankara's decision to buy the S-400 missile system from Russia had ended their involvement in the prestigious project.
He said again, "The F-35 stealth fighter jets certainly cannot be in harmony with the combat equipment that Russia makes as an intelligence gathering media to gather our superiority."
In accordance with the purchase prevention law, the US can impose sanctions on Turkey for doing business with the Russian defense industry
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said the US decision to remove Turkey from the fighter jet project was an unfair decision. However, some friendly countries hope that the situation can be overcome.
Because at the G20 meeting in Japan, last June, US President Donald Trump and Erdogan appeared to have a warm and friendly relationship.
According to Nicholas Danforth, Turkish experts at German Think Tank institutions, conflicting interests about the F-35 and S-400 can continue to be disastrous for the two countries.
For the US, the existence of the S-400 in Turkey can track and monitor the capabilities of the F-35 stealth fighter jet in the interests of the Russian military, the country led by President Putin.
